The internet tells lies

Search the internet to determine the PCD of a car wheel and you will find several extensive databases proclaiming to list all of the wheel fitment details of all the mainstream cars, and some niche, cars. The information dates back several decades…

Search for the PCD of the Renault Twizy and you will be told that it is 3×98; 3 studs spaced equally on a Pitch Centre Diameter of 98mm. The actual PCD is 3×100, which I measured, once four genuine Renault wheels were delivered to me. The internet tells lies; a blessing in disguise at the start of the project reminding me not to work from assumptions, and unverified statements. I wonder what other assumptions are going to trip me up.
